Literature Text
"Goodbye" is such a cheerless word, the heartsick's grieved farewell,
The acrid taste of distance come to tear the joy away
From all that you have seen and heard, as many come to tell--
For all that's left is horrid numb; the world is painted grey.
They say the sign for love is found, a single blood-red rose,
But I, I know, there's nothing quite the anguish, quite the pain,
Resplendent 'midst the thorny ground, and wretched in repose--
There's no such thing as starry nights and glasses of champagne.
For love is bittersweet, and though the world may soon forget,
We only reap what we have sown, no greater truth we'll find.
It's easier to let it go, to drop it all, and yet--
Perhaps a part has always known, and not paid any mind.

Reality
She is terrified
But She keeps her mouth shut
A broken relationship they have formed
Absent of trust
Is it another man?
Of course not, never
But He won't believe Her
And so She suffers forever
Bruises and cuts
She is covered from head to toe
But She searches for nothing else
He is all that She knows
Love, love, love
You are just but a dream
Love, Love, Love
Absence is Her reality

the trees change
soft gray sunset
fluttering limbs like trunks in the breeze

the blue of cloud and steel holding back

crosshatched where the birch-hairs twine
in overlapping lines scrawled above
the white bodies turn brown
stretched from molten crucible
into blown gestures
faint suggestions to the wind
the upside-down birdcages

their arms splitting and
growing barbs like battle maces
when the leaves carve away
the paper bark shivers,

the shadow from the trunk bleeds

Turning Point
Look for the dawn which is yet to come, which lays ready behind the rolling hills,
The dawn which enlightens and which brings joy,
Know that no matter how dark the day has become, how black the sky is,
That the hills come closer with each passing second,
Wander freely, before the time has come, because there is only one chance,
One chance to explore, to live without care, to decide for yourself,
And know that whatever you may choose, that support rides along with it,
Know that anything is fair game, and that there is no wrong choice,
Know that your choice should reflect your passions, not others,
The dawn creeps ever closer, do not let it tak

I got so sick of iambic pentameter and writing in form that I decided to do some more sappy love-crap. Oh, the joys of cheap poetry.
Okay, so I cheated with "pain" and "champagne". But you have to admit, it FITS so perfectly!

cheap? maybe in some ways which i've failed to find, but not in vocabulary!
wtf is Resplendent?
a very interesting insight into failed love. i'd try pick out a favourite stanza but shit man, i love it all i don't care how "cheap" it is. "The acrid taste of distance" you definetly have a talent with words and provoke great imagery, the ignorance is bliss ending is a cherry on.. ah whatever ice cream, cake, muffin....
Brilliant
