The thing with haiku -
you start with this deep message
and then run out of
Thoughts in QuatrainsToday, the sky is sunny stillThoughts in Quatrains by lunaiy
The light without to touch within
The view from every windowsill
Of dreams and things that might have been
I'd rather leave the silence there
If time is just too much to ask
The words and aimless thoughts I wear
Like feathers on a reveler's mask
For secrets kept are those to hold
And bury till the morning comes
But leave no fairytales untold
To bless the few, the happy some
I've all the world to see, to know
To hold within my fearful hands
And every place on earth to go
A long way gone from where we stand
So will you take a leap for me?
If lives can be so freely lost
The story ends, and so do we
And summers fall to autumn frost
But life is life; I'll take it all!
And cherish every passing thrill
The better that we learn to fall
Today, the sky is sunny still
A Song for SorrowAway on the hilltop that surveys the shore,A Song for Sorrow by lunaiy
The sunlight shines down on the dress that she tore.
For there stands my lady with tears in her eyes--
My ship soon is leaving for stormier skies.
The daylight is fading, with promise of night.
And I from below cannot fathom the height,
The distance from hilltop to shadowy shore,
The space of the years, of a lifetime or more.
She's lovely in sorrow, but pain and despair
Last only as long as the wind in her hair,
For memory fades with the coming of frost.
(There's no one as fair as the one who has lost.)
O Captain! My Captain! There's wind in the sail,
A flurry of hats torn away in the gale.
A tempest is coming, we must not delay!
Her face in my eyelids as we sail away.
The ocean is fickle, unending, and bleak;
She torments the mighty and swallows the weak.
So why do we love her, we rashest of men?
When all of our roads lead to her yet again.
The world is too small for our changeable hearts,
No time for the wisdom perdition imparts.
NevermoreThe sounding sea but sounds no moreNevermore by lunaiy
(And all is done by our design)
But what has stood the test of time?
No hand of God, nor touch divine
And silence rules the distant shore
The sounding sea that sounds no more
Has left amidst the shallow sand
An ashen sky and barren land
(A tower in the ruin stands)
The years have won their ceaseless war
The sounding sea shall sound no more
Through snow and sleet, and pouring rain
The wind will sing its dull refrain
And all the memories, all the pain
Have vanished with the days before
A raven, from the other shore
Repeats its slow and lifeless song
And yet, the echoes still ring strong
From years ago, and years along
The sounding seas of Nevermore
