So I'm back? I guess. It's been another five months... And so it goes.

Rereading A Game of Thrones is so much more depressing the second time around because I already know that my favorite characters are pretty much going to die. But this time around I have all these crazy theories going around my head* which drive me all sorts of crazy previously only known to the elderly and Tom Cruise (and in that case, an elderly Tom Cruise would be quite fearsome indeed). But I digress.

HEY LISA GUESS WHAT? I'm reading Leaves of Grass! After more than a year... Well, I guess "reading" is a bit of an overstatement. But it's an improvement. I've been on a kind of Walt Whitman fix since I started trying to memorize "O Captain! My Captain!" (which is harder than "The Raven" because it's not quite as rhythmic, but also significantly shorter). The net is halfway down now?

I'm also trying to write lyrics, an attempt that is so far proving rather unsuccessful... Everything comes out in perfect anapests, which make for a rather dull song rhythmically. Not to mention that every melody that sounds fine in my head comes out sounding either like country or folk, both of which I loathe.
